- They are known for producing various physiological and psychological effects.
- The two most well-known cannabinoids are tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is psychoactive, and cannabidiol (CBD), which is not.
What are terpenes?
- Terpenes are aromatic organic compounds found in a wide variety of plants, including cannabis.
- They are responsible for the unique scents and flavors of different plants and strains.
- Terpenes are thought to interact with cannabinoids like THC and CBD, potentially enhancing or modifying their effects, a phenomenon known as the “entourage effect”.
- Common terpenes found in cannabis include myrcene, limonene, pinene, linalool, and caryophyllene.
